A smartphone will notify you of a summons faster than the postman: a new function has appeared in “Reserve+”

Now, summonses can arrive on smartphones even before the postman brings them. The update to the Reserve+ mobile application changes the approach to informing those liable for military service, providing a new level of control from the state.

When the territorial recruitment center sends a summons, the application can send a push notification, which displays the date and time when the person must appear. Thus, the phone user learns about the summons faster than he receives the envelope, said Violeta Monastyrska, a lawyer at Legal Strategy.

One of the important features is that the notification from the application is not an official service of the summons. Only a paper document delivered in accordance with all regulations has legal force. Thus, a push notification is only a signal that you should prepare, but not a basis for a fine or punishment.

No less important is the fact that if a person does not pick up the registered letter within three business days, it will be returned to the CCC with an appropriate mark. In this case, this can be interpreted as proper service, and for failure to appear, a fine may be imposed, the amounts of which can be quite significant.

It should be noted that this feature is not mandatory. It is disabled by default, and the user himself decides whether to activate the notification. This means that formally the state does not have access to phones, but provides a tool that makes it difficult to claim: “I did not receive anything.”
