New registration will cost 25,000 UAH: CCC imposes fines on men after moving
Men face a fine of over 25,000 hryvnias for refusing to register for military service after moving. Such cases are already being recorded, as reported by the “Court-Law Newspaper”.
For example, one of the men did not register at a new address after moving to Kyiv and as a result received a fine of 25,500 hryvnias. His attempt to appeal this decision in court was unsuccessful.
The situation concerns those people who live in another city for a long time, but remain registered in the previous territorial recruitment center (TCC) and do not report changes. This is considered a violation of the rules of military registration.
The man tried to prove in court that the fine was imposed illegally. He emphasized possible inaccuracies in the registration data, terms of liability, as well as shortcomings in the execution of documents. However, the courts of first and appellate instances recognized this argument as invalid, noting that the very fact of failure to fulfill duties was confirmed.
The court found that the man had been living in Kyiv for a long time, as evidenced by the relevant documents, but continued to be registered in another CCC. He updated his personal data, knowingly knowing about his status, but did not take any measures to resolve the discrepancies.
The court emphasized that such a violation is of an ongoing nature. That is, the lack of registration is not a one-time fact, but continues until the moment of performing duties or their detection. Therefore, the reference to the terms of bringing to justice was not taken into account.
The Court of Appeal confirmed these decisions, so the fine of UAH 25,500 became final and cannot be appealed.
Experts advise those liable for military service to update their data in a timely manner when changing their place of residence and register at a new address in order to avoid administrative sanctions.
