Jet Ski overturned: three tried to cross the border with Moldova illegally

Border guards of the Podilskyi detachment prevented an illegal border crossing through the Kuchurhanskyi estuary. Three people tried to get to Moldova on a jet ski, but their boat overturned.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine released this information.

On the night of April 15, border guards prevented an illegal crossing of the state border through the Kuchurhansky estuary. Three people who wanted to get to Moldova were detained while traveling by water. The organizer of this attempt was a 38-year-old resident of the Odesa region who currently lives in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Through a telegram channel, he found two people who paid $7,500 each for this service.

Despite the well-planned scheme, the jet ski overturned while traveling through the estuary, and three people ended up in the water. Due to the low water temperature, such an accident could have had tragic consequences. However, border guards pulled them out of the water in time, preventing their deaths.

The organizer of the illegal crossing has already been summoned to the National Police concerning committing a crime under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Administrative reports were drawn up against two passengers from the Odesa and Kyiv regions for attempting to illegally cross the border by Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The cases were referred to court.
