We remain in shock: Trump condemned the attacks due to the numerous casualties
US President Donald Trump has strongly condemned Russia’s recent shelling of civilian targets in Ukraine, calling it proof that Vladimir Putin has no intention of ending the war.
In a post on the Truth Social platform on April 26, Trump said that “there was no reason to attack peaceful areas, cities and villages,” and that this made him doubt the Russian president’s true intentions.
Trump also suggested introducing new sanctions and financial measures to increase pressure on Russia. “Too many people are dying!!!” he stressed.
In addition, Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a brief conversation after parting ways with Pope Francis, during which they discussed the possibilities for achieving peace. Zelensky described the meeting as “good” and expressed hope for the effectiveness of their discussions, including the need for a complete ceasefire and the creation of a stable peace.
He also noted that this meeting is symbolic and could have a significant historical impact if common goals are achieved.
