SBU detained a Russian agent who was collecting coordinates of military hospitals
In the Poltava region, SBU counterintelligence officers detained a Russian military intelligence agent who was collecting data on the location of Ukrainian hospitals and medical facilities where wounded soldiers were treated.
According to the SBU press service, the detainee is a 36-year-old resident of the region without a permanent job who actively supported the occupiers in pro-Russian Telegram channels and carried out tasks for the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of Russia.
The agent obtained information about the locations of military medical facilities through acquaintances and independently checked the collected data on the spot. In addition, he tried to identify the positions of mobile air defense fire groups and their patrol routes.
The detention took place at the perpetrator’s place of residence. Law enforcement officers documented his actions and seized his mobile phone along with several SIM cards, which he regularly changed for conspiracy.
He is suspected of committing high treason under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court has ordered his arrest as a preventive measure. For the offense committed, the detainee faces life imprisonment with property confiscation.
The detention operation was carried out by SBU officers in the Poltava region under the supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
