Blogger Yana Osypova, who has more than 400 thousand followers on social networks, expressed her indignation at the depiction of people with prosthetic limbs in the news. She particularly criticizes the Playboy Ukraine photo project “Beauty with a Scar” and the 13th season of the reality show “The Bachelor” with Oleksandr Teren.
This information became known from her post on Instagram. One of the veterans who lost both legs at the front shared this video in his stories, which caused even greater resonance.
Yana Osypova noted that she is “triggered” by the idea of propagating prosthetics and normalizing the loss of limbs. She was outraged that Playboy shows Ukrainian girls without legs as something sexy, while “The Bachelor” has a veteran in the lead role, for whom 25 women compete.
Recently, the legendary men’s magazine Playboy Ukraine presented a special issue with a photo project, “Beauty with a Scar,” which starred women who suffered injuries and amputations during the war. Among the heroines are both military and civilians.
The blogger also expressed dissatisfaction with the choice of the main character of the 13th season of “The Bachelor,” a veteran who lost both legs due to the war.
