Kyiv residents risk being left without gas and hot water in the summer

Residents of Ukraine’s capital will face gas and hot water cuts this summer, as announced by the head of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities, Oleg Popenko.

In the summer, centralized hot water supply is economically unprofitable for the city budget. In some cases, heating water is much more expensive than in the cold season when heating systems operate. For this reason, hot water can be turned off for a long.

Popenko clarified that residents can heat water independently using boilers or other devices, increasing costs.

He also noted that the situation with gas cuts is associated with general resource conservation and planned network repair work in the summer.

The city authorities are calling on citizens to prepare for changes in public utilities and pay attention to notifications of cuts in their areas.
