There may have been drone attacks on a semiconductor device factory in the Bolkhov district of the Oryol region

On the night of May 21, explosions occurred in the Oryol region of Russia, which were probably caused by a drone attack on the Bolkhov Semiconductor Plant.

Russian media and some Telegram channels confirm this information.

Unidentified drones were probably trying to attack the enterprise in the city of Bolkhov. Residents reported loud explosions.

According to information on the network, a fire broke out at the plant. There have been no official comments from the Russian military yet.

The Bolkhov Semiconductor Plant (JSC “BZPP”) holds a significant position in the Russian military industry, concentrating its efforts on the development and production of electronic devices for radio-electronic equipment.

The enterprise’s production includes microcircuits, semiconductors, micro-assemblies, and “eternal batteries” for radio-electronic devices. Its products are used in communication, control, electronic warfare systems, and in simulators for tanks and missile systems.

The plant actively cooperates with the Suzirya concern and other organizations in the Russian defense industry.

It is worth noting that the enterprise is subject to international sanctions, yet it continues to operate. According to reports, up to 3 million devices are produced there annually, with a staff of approximately 700 employees.

Additionally, an attack by uncrewed boats was reported in Novorossiysk, posing a threat to Russian military vessels docked in the local port.
