SHEU official suspected of embezzling a million from Kyiv’s budget
The capital’s prosecutor’s office has charged the deputy head of the municipal enterprise SHEU in the Desnyansky district with official negligence, which resulted in significant financial losses.
The case concerns the purchase of road salt carried out by the enterprise in November 2023. According to the contract, salt was purchased for a total amount of about 15 million hryvnias.
However, the examination results showed that the market value of the purchased products was only 14 million hryvnias. Thus, the municipal enterprise overpaid about 1 million hryvnias.
As a result, the Kyiv budget suffered losses. The official is suspected under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence resulting in grave consequences).
The Podilsky District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv is conducting the procedural management in this case.
In addition, in the context of tenders for the construction of a shelter for the Universum Lyceum, it was revealed that a more expensive offer was chosen instead of a more profitable alternative. Significant overpayments for materials were recorded in the procurement. According to the Telegram channel “Vykryvach,” 61.4 million hryvnias were allocated for the construction of a shelter for the Universum Lyceum, rejecting a proposal that was almost 4.8 million hryvnias cheaper. This choice raised questions about the rational use of taxpayers’ money.
