The brigade commander “surrendered” to the TRO to register his wife and provide her with a million

The former commander of the TRO brigade was charged with providing increased payments to his wife due to fictitious participation in hostilities.

This became known thanks to the State Bureau of Investigation.

The SBI completed an investigation into the former commander of one of the territorial defense brigades and three of his subordinates who were involved in the deal.

In 2023, the official arranged for his wife to be a rifleman in his brigade, providing her with increased payments. To formally comply with the law, the couple even divorced, but in fact, they continued to maintain family relations.

This scheme was later joined by three of his subordinates, including two unit commanders, who falsified documents about the woman’s non-existent participation in hostilities. Thanks to this, in 2023-2024, she received approximately UAH 1.2 million in additional payments illegally.

Throughout this time, the wife continued to serve alongside her husband and was involved in horse breeding on a specialized farm. She also voluntarily left the military unit, spending two weeks in Poland.
