Night attack on Kyiv: missiles and drones stopped the work of public transport

On the night of July 3-4, Kyiv was subjected to a massive attack by Russian forces. As a result of the attack, at least 19 civilians were injured, 14 of whom were hospitalized, and another 5 received outpatient treatment, the mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported.

In the Dnipro district, debris from enemy drones fell on the territory of residential buildings and an educational institution, but there was no fire. In the Solomyansky district, debris fell on non-residential facilities and a garage cooperative, where a fire broke out, and warehouses and an administrative building were also damaged.

In the Svyatoshynsky district, debris from a drone caused a fire in warehouses, and smoke and fires occurred near a multi-story building, including in the private sector, resulting in damage to a 14-story residential building and a fire near parked cars.

In the Darnytsia district, debris fell in several places in an open area, but no explosions or fires were recorded. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris struck an empty 8-story building, causing a fire on the first floor; another fire broke out in the private sector. In Holosiivskyi district, damage was caused to a medical facility.

According to preliminary data, Russian forces used more than 155 strike and training drones, as well as 5-7 Iskander-M missiles, 4 Iskander-K missiles, and 2 Kinzhal missiles.

As a result of the shelling, railway infrastructure facilities in Kyiv were damaged. Ukrzaliznytsia reported delays of up to two hours for passenger trains heading west, temporarily running via Vyshneve and Darnytsia.

Kyiv City Express currently operates only on the northern route: Svyatoshyn – Pochaina – Darnytsia. Due to the shared use of tracks, schedule changes are possible. To ensure transportation, reserve diesel locomotives will be involved, which will help deliver trains to their destinations within the capital after the resumption of traffic on the Svyatoshyn-Kyiv-Passenger route.
