Evaders are being asked to pay large sums to avoid mobilization: what schemes are used?

The number of cases of fraud related to military registration is increasing in Ukraine, which should be taken as a serious signal. Every careless step can be an opportunity for fraudsters to exploit people’s trust. Most often, victims are citizens who want to avoid responsibility or are looking for easy ways, according to the police report.

Not so long ago, a 27-year-old woman was detained in Kyiv, the director of a company that offered men fictitious removal from military registration in exchange for money, specifying that she had connections in the territorial recruitment center. For 19 thousand dollars, she promised to “resolve the issue.” The police recorded the moment of the transfer of money, after which the woman was detained. She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This case is just the tip of the iceberg. In times of crisis, especially in wartime, people are ready to look for easy solutions to avoid serious problems. This is precisely what scammers use, offering “convenient” ways out, such as purchasing fake certificates or creating fictitious job opportunities. However, everyone who succumbs to such offers risks not only losing their money but also being held criminally liable.

Investigators warn: if someone promises you a quick solution to the issue for money, know that this is a scammer. No fictitious document will exempt you from inspection, and illegal schemes are sooner or later exposed. Citizens should understand that corrupt practices are supported not only by those who take bribes, but also by those who are ready to give them, which creates responsibility for both parties.
