5 situations when parents should refrain from the word “yes” their children
In Chernihiv, the conflict erupted over the association of co-owners of the apartment building (condominium) “Koshovo 35”. Residents believe that the attempt to change leadership represents a challenge to the judicial family, including the chairman of the Court of Appeal, Valery Zabolotny.
Volodymyr Sergeyenko, chairman of the ACMB, reports that after refusing to step down from his position, he began to receive threats. According to eyewitnesses, Zabolotny, having presented a judge, threatened Sergeenko with criminal liability if he did not support his election.
Subsequently, the financial documents were inspected, initiated by persons close to Zabolotny. However, the former chairman of the audit committee did not find any violations and refused to sign a report prepared by another group.
The conflict reached its peak during the election of the ACMH chairman, when Natalie Tovpeko’s candidacy was proposed, which the residents considered to be Zabolotny’s relative; however, most supported Sergeenko.
After the vote, criminal proceedings were initiated for suspected document forgery, which were sent not only to Sergeenko but also to other residents. All charges are based on the statement of the judge’s wife, although the inhabitants themselves deny any claims against Sergeenko.
Sergeenko also noted that he faces difficulties in finding a lawyer. He stated that the judge’s brother, Oleg Zabolotny, who heads the Regional Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar, allegedly “advised” not to be accepted for the case.
Journalists are seeking comments from the Zabolotny family, but all their requests have gone unanswered.
The situation is continued to be tracked, as publicity can be an essential means of counteracting abuse by those in power.
