A dead zone is being formed in Ukrainian territories: the enemy is developing new tactics

The Russian side seeks to turn the area along the front line into an unpleasant living environment, spanning about 30 kilometers. This was reported by Ukrainian military and radio technology expert Serhiy Beskrestnov, known by the call sign “Flash”, in an interview with “Kyiv 24”.

As the expert noted, “Shahed” drones can form chains of repeaters, allowing transmission over distances of up to 200 kilometers. For these purposes, Chinese modems are used, each costing about 6,000 US dollars.

According to Beskrestnov, such technologies pose a serious threat to Ukrainian railway infrastructure: Russian drones are attempting to detect and attack locomotives and traction substations during operation.

He also emphasized that the Russian troops are trying to implement the strategy of establishing a “dead zone” covering a width of 20-30 kilometers, which makes the stay of people, both civilians and military, extremely dangerous.

“This is a dead zone. It concerns not only military operations. The Russians are trying to make this territory completely uninhabitable for both the military and civilians, in total for about 20-30 kilometers,” the expert noted.

Recently, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) also noted that Russia is trying to create a kind of “buffer”. As the department reported, this year, the Russian armed forces have significantly changed the tactics of attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine. The destruction of critical infrastructure is forcing residents to leave their homes, in particular, such situations are observed in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, which are currently the focus of the Russian army.
