What to do if you are detained and placed in the CCC: advice from a lawyer
Lawyer Dmitry Solovyov explained several steps relatives can take if a conscript is detained on the CCC’s premises.
If signs of illegal detention are detected, the first step is to contact the police.
“First, you should file a complaint with law enforcement agencies about the commission of a criminal offense, namely, about illegal deprivation of liberty, which a group of people can commit. This threatens employees of the CCC with a term of imprisonment of up to 10 years,” the lawyer advises.
Solovyov also noted that if the detainee has serious health problems, it is essential to call an ambulance at the CCC.
“Secondly, if a person has serious health problems, it is necessary to call doctors to the place of detention urgently,” he emphasized.
The human rights activist drew attention to the fact that, according to the Ukrainian legislation “On Military Duty and Military Service, mobilization can be carried out only at the place of military registration of a person. Also, without medical documents indicating a medical history, a military medical commission cannot be passed.
If these requirements are ignored, the CCC is obliged to release the person under the appropriate summons.
