Storm warning in Ukraine: forecasters announced the date of a sharp cooling and foggy areas

Ukraine is expected to experience difficult weather conditions on December 17, accompanied by a storm warning due to thick fog, which may complicate road traffic.

According to weather forecasters, a level 1 storm warning has been issued in several regions of the country. The Ukrhydrometeorological Center reported this.

The main reason is fog with visibility of 200-500 meters, which is forecast for the north and the Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions.

Meteorologists note that such weather conditions may cause traffic complications, especially in the morning and evening hours.

Forecaster Natalka Didenko noted that no precipitation is expected on December 17. In most regions, daytime air temperatures will range from +2 to +5 degrees, while in the west and south of the country they will rise to +4…+10 degrees.

A significant cooling is not expected in the near future. A substantial decrease in temperature is possible only after December 26, when real frosts may be observed in some regions.

In general, Ukraine will have cloudy weather with clearings. The wind will be variable in direction, with speeds of 5-10 m/s. At night, the temperature will vary from +3 to -2 degrees, and during the day, the air will warm up to +2…+7 degrees.

In Transcarpathia, Prykarpattia, and the far south, the temperature will reach +6…+11 degrees, while on the Left Bank it will be cooler, from 0 to +5 degrees.

According to Meteoprog, the highest temperature on December 17 is predicted in the Odessa region – +5…+10 degrees, while the lowest will be observed in the Luhansk region – from -2 to +3 degrees.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, clear weather is also expected, with no precipitation, but with fog. South wind at a speed of 3-8 m/s. In the capital at night, the temperature will stay around 0°C, and during the day it will fluctuate from +3 to +5 degrees, in the region, from +2 to +7 degrees.
