Rapper Misha Pravilnyi defends the country by joining the National Guard

Rapper Misha Pravilny decided to mobilize to the Nachtigall battalion, which is part of the 20th Operational Brigade “Lyubart” and the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”.

The artist announced his decision on Telegram. He admitted that he had not published anything for a long time due to the full-scale war, believing there was no point in sharing his thoughts amid constant shelling and uncertainty.

“Now I consider it appropriate, since I have certain changes in my life. I have decided to join the Nachtigall battalion. I am currently in the BZVP: Free, Calming, Restorative, Practice,” he noted.

Misha Pravilny also emphasized that he had the opportunity to avoid service thanks to his connections, but chose a different path. He did not describe his decision in terms of “defending the homeland” or “civic duty”, but instead drew attention to changes in his own worldview.

“I used to adhere to the ideas of ‘I am a creator’, ‘I am outside politics’, ‘I am a humanist/pacifist’. These are wonderful concepts, but they are only on paper,” he noted.

The artist noted that war happens regardless of our beliefs, but justice does not. In 2025, all his deferrals ended, and he had to face several options: find a job with a reservation, go abroad, or get a “white ticket”. But he had no desire to escape.

“I have traveled to many countries, even lived in some for several months. I have something to compare Ukraine to — and I don’t know what else would have to happen for me to leave. Nuclear winter? Honcharenko as president? A ban on mashed potatoes? Even in that case, I would stay here,” he wrote.

Misha is currently undergoing basic training and plans to share his experiences on blogs while he can write without approval from the command.
