Ukrposhta established ties with a pro-Russian businessman? A scheme worth 90 million hryvnias

Journalists from Radio Liberty and Sludstvo.info have discovered that Ukrposhta ordered packaging totaling almost UAH 90 million from a company associated with cardboard manufacturer Gennady Minin. This businessman has ties to both Russia and companies in the temporarily occupied territories.

In their article, the journalists investigate the cardboard packaging supply chain, which involves the state postal operator and several factories owned by Minin, a well-known Ukrainian manufacturer of corrugated packaging.

Gennady Minin is originally from Russia, was a deputy from the Party of Regions, and a member of the Seversko-Donetsk District Council from the OPZH. It is quite significant that Viktor Medvedchuk personally asked Vladimir Putin to lift sanctions on several Ukrainian companies for which Minin vouched.

The article focuses on Gennady Minin’s joint-stock companies, Rubizhansk Cardboard and Packaging Plant (RKTK), located in the Luhansk region, and Trypilly Packaging Plant (TPK), located in the Kyiv region. It is known that this company entered into contracts with Ukrposhta for a large sum during the hostilities.

But it is not only about business: investigators have discovered corporate ties indicating that Minin’s companies are in Russian jurisdiction and at facilities that have fallen under the control of the aggressor. For example, RKTK holds shares in the Russian company Packaging Kuban, as confirmed by the financial statements.

In addition, Gennady’s son, Kirill Minin, is considered a member of the board of directors of the mentioned company. He also has several companies in the Krasnodar Territory, and his wife, Natalia, is likely to have founded another company there.

The investigation indicates the possible existence of Russian passports for Minin and his wife. Although the businessman denies having such citizenship, he confirms that he has a tax number in the Russian Federation.

After the start of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation and the loss of control over its business, the company began reorganization processes, as a result of which part of the assets were transferred to Russian “clones”. Journalists claim these changes were legally documented under Gennady Minin’s signature, but he and his lawyers deny this, suggesting possible forgery.

The editorial office asked Ukrposhta to comment on the facts outlined in the investigation, but has not received a response to date.
