6 billion losses and cash purchases of luxury properties — the State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the individuals in the case

The State Bureau of Investigation reported that during the first four months of 2025, losses from criminal offenses inflicted on the state amounted to more than 6 billion 168 million hryvnias.

To compensate for these losses further, the courts decided to seize the suspects’ property for a total of 1 billion 474 million hryvnias at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation. More than 190 million hryvnias have already been compensated. Thanks to the completed proceedings, it was also possible to prevent the receipt of illegal benefits in the amount of 12 million 755 thousand hryvnias.

Recently, a case related to the possible illegal enrichment of the family of the former head of the Zaporizhia Regional Territorial Center for Procurement and Social Support was revealed. According to official data, members of this family acquired property for more than 5.5 million hryvnias without having legal income.

Among the purchased items were a residential building with a land plot, two cars registered to his wife, an apartment belonging to his daughter, and $20,000 in cash. All real estate was purchased exclusively for money. At the same time, as confirmed by the analysis, legal income was mainly deposited into bank accounts, which does not verify the legality of the ownership of this property.

Based on the collected evidence, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to recover unfounded assets in favor of the state. When considering the case, the court ruled that the rights to real estate owned by the relatives of the former official should be seized.
